- 1 1/2 ounces añejo tequila
- 1 1/2 ounces homemade sweet and sour mix
- 3/4 ounce orange liqueur (cointreau or triple sec)
- 2 cups water (for sweet and sour mix)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for sweet and sour mix)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 5 – 7 small limes)
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 medium lemons)
Instructions
- Simmer water and sugar in a saucepan to create sugar syrup until dissolved, then cool.
- Stir in fresh lime and lemon juice to the cooled syrup to create sweet and sour mix.
- Prepare the glass rim with lime and kosher salt, fill with ice.
- Shake tequila, sweet and sour mix, and orange liqueur in a shaker with ice until cold.
- Strain into the glass over ice and garnish with a lime wedge.
Notes
For a stronger flavor, use more tequila or less mixer.
You can adjust sweetness by modifying the sugar amount in the sweet and sour mix.
