Description

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • Red, green, and yellow water-based food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  • Beat the room-temperature unsalted butter until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually mix in the powdered sugar until smooth and thick.
  • Add heavy cream, vanilla, peppermint extract, and salt, mixing until dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into four portions; color three with food coloring.
  • Shape each portion into thin ropes and cut into small pieces.
  • Let the mints air dry at room temperature for 12-24 hours.
  • Store in an airtight container.
