- 8 ounces fettuccine
- 12 ounces large raw shrimp
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 13.5 ounces smoked sausage
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente, reserving some pasta water before draining.
- Season the shrimp with half of the Cajun seasoning and set aside.
- Sauté the sausage in olive oil until golden; remove and keep warm.
- Cook the shrimp in the same skillet until pink and opaque, then set aside with the sausage.
- Melt butter in the skillet, add garlic, and cook until fragrant.
- Pour in the cream, remaining Cajun seasoning, and spices; bring to a boil and simmer to thicken.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Combine the pasta, shrimp, and sausage in the sauce, tossing to coat well.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
