- up to 1/4 cup hot milk (optional) or pasta water
- 1 pkg fettuccine noodles – cooked to package directions
- freshly chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat and add the minced garlic. Let it simmer for just a minute.
- Mix in the cream and half and half, whisking until fully combined, and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Whisk in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to enhance the flavor.
- Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until it fully melts into the sauce without becoming stringy.
- Adjust the thickness of the sauce by whisking in small amounts of hot milk or pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Combine the sauce with the cooked fettuccine noodles and garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, reduce the amount of milk or pasta water added.
Using freshly grated parmesan cheese will yield the best results in flavor and texture.
