Description

This creamy Alfredo sauce stands out with its rich flavor and simple prep. Made with fresh garlic, creamy cheeses, and perfect for a quick dinner, it’s a delicious homemade option that elevates any pasta dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • up to 1/4 cup hot milk (optional) or pasta water
  • 1 pkg fettuccine noodles – cooked to package directions
  • freshly chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat and add the minced garlic. Let it simmer for just a minute.
  • Mix in the cream and half and half, whisking until fully combined, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Whisk in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to enhance the flavor.
  • Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until it fully melts into the sauce without becoming stringy.
  • Adjust the thickness of the sauce by whisking in small amounts of hot milk or pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
  • Combine the sauce with the cooked fettuccine noodles and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, reduce the amount of milk or pasta water added.
Using freshly grated parmesan cheese will yield the best results in flavor and texture.
Feel free to add cooked chicken or shrimp for a heartier meal.
