Description

Crockpot Carolina Gold Bbq Chicken Thighs deliver an incredible flavor experience with minimal prep. Juicy chicken thighs are cooked to perfection in a sweet and tangy sauce, making it ideal for a quick and satisfying dinner.


Ingredients

  • 6 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ¾ cup yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs evenly on both sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the thighs skin-side down until golden and crispy.
  3. Transfer the chicken to the slow cooker, placing it skin-side up.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the mustard, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  5. Pour the sauce around the chicken to keep the skin intact.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours, until tender.
  7. Uncover for the last 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.

Notes

For added flavor, don’t skip the searing step.
You can use boneless chicken thighs if preferred, adjusting cooking time accordingly.
Serve with a side of coleslaw or cornbread for a complete meal.
