Ingredients

Scale
  • All butter pie crust (homemade or from a pack of two)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup (237ml) dark corn syrup
  • ⅓ cup (67g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup (57g) unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon (4g) cornstarch
  • 2 cups (210g) pecan halves

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Prepare and chill the pie crust.
  • Whisk together eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, salt, and cornstarch until smooth.
  • Spread pecans in the bottom of the crust, then pour the filling over them.
  • Place the pie on a baking sheet and wrap the crust edges with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 10 minutes at 425°F, then lower the temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  • Remove foil and continue to bake for 12-16 minutes until set. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

Chill the pie crust to prevent shrinking while baking.
For extra richness, use room temperature eggs for the filling.
You can add vanilla extract for an enhanced flavor.
