Description

This Homemade Shake and Bake recipe offers a crispy, flavorful coating for chicken that’s easy to prepare and perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 chicken breasts

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Mix breadcrumbs, cornstarch, garlic salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, thyme, and dried parsley in a Ziplock bag.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, seal the bag, and shake to coat breadcrumbs with oil.
  • Coat each chicken breast in olive oil before placing it in the breadcrumb mixture bag.
  • Seal the bag and shake until chicken is evenly coated. Place chicken on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Let rest for a few minutes to maintain crunchiness.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the baking sheet for even cooking.
Use a meat thermometer to check chicken doneness without losing moisture.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
