- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Sauté ground beef, onion, and garlic until browned in a Dutch oven (5-7 minutes).
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, spices, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes.
- Serve hot over grilled hot dogs, adding toppings as desired.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey for the beef.
Allowing the chili to sit overnight enhances flavors.
