Description

This Lemon Garlic Butter Baked Cod features tender cod fillets enveloped in garlic butter and zesty lemon, perfect for an easy weeknight dinner or a special occasion!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cod fillets, around 6 ounces each
  • 3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves freshly minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat cod fillets dry with paper towels.
  • In a bowl, whisk melted butter, olive oil, garlic, zest, juice, paprika, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  • Place cod in a baking dish and pour sauce over it.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until fish flakes with a fork.
  • Garnish with parsley and lemon slices before serving.

Notes

Make sure cod is fully thawed if using frozen fillets.
For a gluten-free option, substitute the butter with a dairy-free alternative.
Serve immediately after baking for the best texture.
