- 4 cod fillets, around 6 ounces each
- 3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves freshly minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat cod fillets dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter, olive oil, garlic, zest, juice, paprika, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
- Place cod in a baking dish and pour sauce over it.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until fish flakes with a fork.
- Garnish with parsley and lemon slices before serving.
Notes
Make sure cod is fully thawed if using frozen fillets.
For a gluten-free option, substitute the butter with a dairy-free alternative.
Serve immediately after baking for the best texture.
