- ½ cup chopped onion
- ½ cup green bell pepper
- 4 oz canned mushrooms (stems and pieces, drained)
- 1 pkg onion soup mix
- 1 ¼ cups water
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp cold water
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Add chicken breasts, cooking for 5-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Remove chicken and set aside to rest.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions and green bell peppers for 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in mushrooms and onion soup mix, mixing well.
- Add water and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Combine cornstarch and cold water, then pour into the gravy while stirring.
- Nestle chicken back into skillet, spoon gravy over it, and cover.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes before serving over rice.
