- About 88 pretzel snaps (approximately 5 cups)
- 1 cup (225 grams) dark brown sugar
- 1 cup (227 grams) unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups dark chocolate chips
- Toppings: chopped pecans, colorful sprinkles, or flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a jelly roll-sized sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
- Arrange pretzel snaps on the sheet pan in 11 rows of 8.
- In a medium saucepan, combine dark brown sugar, butter, and sea salt over medium heat, stirring until melted and boiling for 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and pour over pretzels, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 5-6 minutes until the caramel bubbles at 300°F to 310°F.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips on top, and let sit to melt; spread melted chocolate evenly.
- Top with desired toppings and cool completely before breaking into pieces.
