Description

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Molasses
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened (for frosting)
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • Brown Gel Food Dye (for decorating)

Instructions

  • Sift dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in molasses, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Scoop and roll dough in granulated sugar, then place on a baking sheet.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350℉; bake cookies for 14-16 minutes.
  • Cool cookies on pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
  • Prepare cream cheese frosting by mixing butter and cream cheese until creamy; add powdered sugar.
  • Decorate cooled cookies with frosting.
