Instructions

- Add egg, sour cream, and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mix and beat until smooth.
- Gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined, forming a soft dough.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, wrapped in plastic wrap.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out dough to about ¼-inch thickness and cut shapes with cookie cutters.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden; cool on wire racks.
- Beat softened butter and powdered sugar together, adding milk to achieve a spreadable frosting consistency.
- Frost cooled cookies and decorate as desired.
