- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

- 6 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 5 cups Fresh Pears
- 2 cups Fresh Blackberries
- 6 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Additional Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon Cardamom (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/8 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (191°C) and prepare your baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add melted butter and combine until crumbly.
- In a large bowl, mix chopped pears, blackberries, granulated sugar, additional flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Spread in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit filling evenly.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Cover with foil if browning too quickly.
- Cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
Store leftovers covered at room temperature for a day or refrigerate for up to four days.
