Description

This Spiced Pear Berry Crumble features sweet pears and tangy blackberries topped with a crispy crumble. Quick to prepare, it’s perfect for cozy gatherings and evokes comforting autumn memories.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 5 cups Fresh Pears
  • 2 cups Fresh Blackberries
  • 6 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Additional Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon Cardamom (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (191°C) and prepare your baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add melted butter and combine until crumbly.
  • In a large bowl, mix chopped pears, blackberries, granulated sugar, additional flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Spread in the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit filling evenly.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Cover with foil if browning too quickly.
  • Cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
Store leftovers covered at room temperature for a day or refrigerate for up to four days.
