Description

These Spinach Puff Pastry Appetizers feature a flaky pastry filled with a creamy blend of spinach, ricotta, and Parmesan. Quick to prepare and delicious, they are the ideal treat for gatherings or cozy nights at home.


Ingredients

  • 5 oz fresh or frozen spinach
  • 5 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated garlic
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (9x13 inches)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon poppy or sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Thaw or prepare spinach; drain well.
  • Mix filling ingredients: spinach, ricotta, Parmesan, garlic, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.
  • Prep puff pastry; slice into two rectangles.
  • Assemble logs by rolling pastry with filling; chill in the freezer for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 400℉ (200℃); line baking sheet with parchment.
  • Slice logs into 1.3-inch pieces; brush with egg wash and sprinkle seeds.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes until golden.
