Description

This Steak and Caramelized Onion Orzo blends tender steak, sweet caramelized onions, and creamy orzo, making it a delightful choice for cozy meals or special gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1 cup orzo
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Pat the steak dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Caramelize sliced onions in butter and olive oil over medium-low heat for 30-40 minutes.
  • Add garlic to caramelized onions and cook until fragrant.
  • Sear the seasoned steak in the skillet until desired doneness, then rest.
  • Cook orzo in the same skillet with beef broth and Worcestershire sauce until tender.
  • Combine the orzo with caramelized onions and Parmesan, then serve topped with steak.
