Description

  • Jam (plum, raspberry, or strawberry)
  • Granulated sugar for sprinkling
  • Sparkling white sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, cloves, and pecans; whisk.
  • Cream butter into the dry mixture until fine crumbs form.
  • Knead dough into a smooth ball, then flatten into a disk.
  • Roll out to ½ inch thickness and cut shapes using cookie cutters.
  • Spread jam on each cookie, leaving a border to prevent overflow during baking.
  • Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden around the edges.
  • Sprinkle with granulated and sparkling sugar; cool on sheets.

Notes

Try using almond flour for a gluten-free option, but the texture will be different.
Experiment with different jam flavors or try chocolate spreads for variety.
Use unsalted butter if preferred, adding a pinch of salt to the dough.
