Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (296 g) fresh blueberries, (or frozen)
  • 2 medium lemons, (peeled, quartered)
  • 2-inch piece (about 20 grams) fresh ginger root, (peeled, sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons honey, (raw preferred for extra benefits)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup coconut water

Instructions

  1. Combine the blueberries, peeled lemon quarters, ginger slices, honey, black pepper, and coconut water in a blender.
  2. Blend the mixture on high until smooth, about 30 to 60 seconds.
  3. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl, using a spoon to push the liquid through. For an ultra-smooth shot, consider using cheesecloth.
  4. Use a funnel to pour the juice into small glasses or shot bottles. Repeat until all the juice is transferred.
  5. Cover the glasses or seal the bottles and refrigerate to chill before serving.
  6. Stir or shake the shot before consuming, as natural separation may occur.

Notes

Fresh blueberries work best, but frozen can be used in a pinch.
For a sweeter taste, adjust honey to your preference.
Store unused shots in the refrigerator, and consume within 3 days for optimal freshness.
