- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 and 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 2 teaspoons orange zest (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Dough: If using homemade pastry, chill it; for store-bought, thaw it.
- Combine Sugar & Spices: Mix sugar with spices, dividing into two bowls; one for the filling with orange zest, the other for rolling.
- Roll Out Dough: Roll the pastry into a square and sprinkle with the first sugar-spice mix.
- Add Filling: Sprinkle the filling over the dough, roll it tightly, and chill.
- Prepare to Bake: Preheat oven and prepare baking sheets.
- Slice & Arrange: Cut the logs into ⅜ inch thick pieces and arrange them on baking sheets.
- Bake & Flip: Bake until golden, flipping halfway through.
- Cool & Enjoy: Let them cool before transferring to a rack.
Notes
Chill the logs for better texture and shape during baking.
Use leftover sugar-spice mixture for sprinkling before baking.
