These Valentine Homemade Caramels are creamy, flavorful, and easy to make. Perfect for sharing on Valentine’s Day or as a sweet treat any time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup + 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 1/4 cups Sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup + 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  • Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with aluminum foil and grease with butter.
  • In a large saucepan, combine butter, both sugars, corn syrup, and 1 cup of cream over medium heat until melted and smooth.
  • Bring to a gentle boil and add the second cup of cream without stirring; cook until the mixture reaches 240 degrees.
  • Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, then pour into the prepared pan without scraping the sides.
  • Let cool at room temperature until firm, about several hours or overnight, then cut into pieces and wrap.

Notes

Using unsalted butter allows for better flavor control in sweets.
Ensure to use a reliable candy thermometer for accurate results.
