Description

This Air Fryer Grilled Cheese boasts irresistible flavor and simple prep. With buttery, crispy bread and melty cheese, it’s the ultimate quick dinner or comfort food everyone will love.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter or mayo
  • 23 slices cheese (sharp cheddar, American, provolone, Swiss, gouda, or a combo)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 370°F for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Place one slice in front of you, butter-side down. Layer cheese on top, keeping it slightly away from the edges. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up, and gently press the sandwich together. Insert a toothpick through the center to secure it.
  3. Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 370°F for 4–5 minutes. Carefully flip the sandwich, then cook for another 3–4 minutes until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Adjust cook time based on the thickness of your bread.
  4. Remove from the air fryer, take out the toothpick, slice, serve and enjoy!

Notes

Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of the bread used.
Feel free to mix different types of cheese for added flavor.
To make it even crispier, add a sprinkle of garlic powder to the butter.
