- 4 cups (492g) all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups (339g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ¼ cup (250g) granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons cake batter extract
- 1 cup holiday sprinkles
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 5 cups (575g) powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon cake batter extract (for frosting)
- ¼ teaspoon salt (for frosting)
- 2–4 tablespoons heavy cream (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and cake batter extract, mixing well.
- Gently add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, folding in holiday sprinkles.
- Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool cookies on wire racks. For frosting, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar, adding heavy cream to desired consistency. Frost cooled cookies.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Chill dough for at least 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
For gluten-free, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
