Description

Cookie Monster Cookies are a delightful treat featuring a rich blend of chocolate chips and crushed Oreos. Their simple preparation and vibrant blue color make them a fun option for parties or family gatherings, ensuring smiles all around!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp royal blue gel food dye
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup oreo pieces
  • 3/4 cup chips ahoy pieces

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Blend 6 Oreos in a food processor into small and medium pieces. Repeat this with 6 Chips Ahoy cookies. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, eggs, and royal blue food dye.
  4. Add the dry ingredients and mix with a rubber spatula until just combined. Fold in Oreo pieces, Chips Ahoy pieces, and chocolate chips.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350℉ and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Allow the cookie dough to rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Use a large cookie scoop to place 6 cookie dough balls onto each cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 13-15 minutes, until the edges are set but the cookies will remain blue without golden color.
  8. Top each cookie with an Oreo piece, a cookie piece, and extra chocolate chips immediately after removing from the oven. Let them sit for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

For best results, ensure the eggs are at room temperature before mixing.
If you don’t have royal blue food dye, consider using another color gel or omitting it for traditional cookies.
Allow cookies to cool completely on the rack to maintain their texture.
