- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine yellow cake mix and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Gently fold in oats and 1 cup of chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto baking sheets, spacing them apart.
- Press remaining chocolate chips onto the tops of the dough mounds.
- Bake for 10-13 minutes until edges are set and centers look slightly underbaked.
- Cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Use unsalted butter for better control of salt content.
Allow eggs and butter to reach room temperature for a smoother dough.
Chill the dough briefly if cookies spread too much during baking.
