- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp whole milk
- 1/4 cup holly sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 ℉ (175 ℃) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, spices, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream softened butter and light brown sugar until fluffy, then mix in egg yolks, molasses, and vanilla.
- Gradually combine dry mixture with wet ingredients on low speed.
- Scoop dough into 18 balls and roll in spiced sugar.
- Place on baking sheets and bake for 9-10 minutes, until edges are golden.
- Prepare brown butter icing and dip cooled cookies into it, topping with sprinkles.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for best results.
If using whole wheat flour, the texture may vary slightly.
Unsweetened cocoa powder can balance sweetness in icing.
